This is an interesting one!
A '57 P-bass that seemingly went back to the factory for new electronics and a refinish in '68.
We see the '57 date on the neck and under the pickup but we also see a '68 pickup, stamps in the neck pocket indicative of 60's factory work, and pots dated to '66. the '66 pots track for a '68 refin/electronics job since they were still working through a very large batch of pots purchased in '66 after the CBS takeover.
The finish is a three-color poly sunburst also indicative of the finish work coming out of the Fender factory int he late 60's.
Pretty cool piece and while not 100% original everything done/changed *is* factory work.
Ships in the pictured modern tweed case.
